Set Up a Business Number
Setting up a business number as configured — search the number, pick a plan from $10 per month, record your answer point, apply and confirm.
Setting up a business number here is a short checklist, and every item on it is published: choose the number, choose the plan, record the answer point, apply, and confirm with the team. The setup asks nothing technical of you — the signup flow collects what it needs, starting with the number the service will connect to.
The setup checklist
- Choose the number type: 1300 shared cost (callers pay a local call cost; the business pays the remainder) or 1800 free-for-callers in the stated Australian 1800-number context. Both run on published plans from $10 per month.
- Choose the number: standard numbers are arranged with the team; word numbers are searchable on Find a Number by word or last six digits. A search result is a snapshot — the team confirms the exact number and price before connection.
- Choose the plan: published rows run $10, $15, $39, $79 and $99 per month with different rate tables and, on Cap plans, included minute allowances. Compare rows on the pricing page.
- Record the answer point: the signup flow asks for the number the service will connect to. Settle that before applying.
- Apply and confirm: the application records your choices; the team confirms the exact number and price before the service is connected.
Two decisions worth a second look
First, the caller arrangement: it is the one choice customers experience directly every time they ring you, and it is cheaper to get right now than to revisit later. Second, the plan row: three published plans share the $39 fee with different rate tables and inclusions, so the fee alone does not identify a plan. Work through both against your call profile rather than picking by price alone.
What setup does not include
Stated plainly: this page publishes no activation timeframe — connection timing is confirmed with the team. Setup does not bundle unpublished features; the published scope is the plan table and the three listed add-ons (Call Tracking Numbers $5/month, IVR Keypress Menu $35/month, Postcode Prompter $250/month). And setup is for business inbound numbers — geographic, mobile and personal numbers are not published products. Terms sit in the terms and conditions.

Setup questions
What do I need ready to set up a business number?
The number you want (searched if it is a word), the plan row you prefer, and the answer-point number the signup flow will ask for.
Can I set up without choosing a word?
Yes — standard 1300 and 1800 numbers are arranged with the team. The word search is only for Phonewords, which start from $40 per month.
How long does setup take?
This page does not publish an activation timeframe. The team confirms connection specifics during the application.
What does setup cost?
The plan you choose — published plans start at $10 per month — plus per-minute call rates under that plan, and word pricing if the number spells a word.
