1300 Numbers
A 1300 number is a shared-cost Australian business number. Callers pay a local call rate and the business pays a published monthly plan from $10 ex GST.
A 1300 number is a shared-cost business number for Australian businesses: the caller pays a local call rate and the business pays a monthly plan plus per-minute rates for receiving the calls. Published plans run from $10 to $99 per month, and the standard plans are month-to-month with no lock-in. The full product overview is on the 1300 numbers pillar page.
Who pays for a 1300 call
The cost is split. Callers pay a local call rate whether they dial from an Australian fixed line or a mobile, and the business pays the per-minute rate attached to its plan. Callers ring from both fixed lines and mobiles, and the published plans price the business side of each differently, with mobile rates higher on every tier. That split is the main structural difference from an 1800 number, where the caller pays nothing in the stated Australian 1800-number context and the business carries the whole call cost. The 1300 vs 1800 comparison sets the two side by side.
What a plan includes
Every published 1300 plan carries a monthly fee, per-minute call rates billed per second, and either included minutes or call credit depending on the tier. The published tiers are $10, $15, $39, $79 and $99 per month, with the $39 tier offered in three variants — Cap39, Fixed Cap39 and Mobile Cap39 — that split their included minutes differently. With the Cap plans the monthly fee is the only charge until the included value is used, then the plan's per-minute rates apply. The caller-side local call rate does not change with the plan; the tier decides what the business pays. The current fees, rates and inclusions are published on the pricing page, and the 1300 number rates page explains how the rates are applied.
How the number reaches your business
The 1300 number is the published number customers dial. When you sign up, the flow asks for the number the service will connect to, so calls arriving on the 1300 number reach the answer point you provide. This page does not extend that into specific device or coverage claims — the signup flow and the terms and conditions are the places to confirm the setup that applies to you.
Choosing between a plain number and a Phoneword
A plain 1300 number carries the published plan fee only. A Phoneword uses the keypad to spell a word, starts from $40 per month, and is priced on the desirability and availability of the word. You can search available 1300/1800 Phonewords with Find a Number; availability of a specific word is not promised.
1300 numbers: questions
How much does a 1300 number cost the business?
Published plans run from $10 to $99 per month ex GST, with per-minute rates on top as set out in the pricing tables. The 1300 number plans page summarises the tiers.
Do callers pay to dial a 1300 number?
Yes — a 1300 number is shared cost. Callers pay a local call rate and the business pays the per-minute rate for receiving the call.
Is there a lock-in contract?
Standard 1300 plans are month-to-month with no lock-in. Premium numbers such as Phonewords carry different terms, which are stated on the pricing page.
Can a caller use a mobile?
The published plans price calls from fixed lines and mobiles separately, so both caller types are contemplated by the rate tables. Mobile rates are higher than fixed line rates on every published plan, which is why the Cap tiers split their included minutes. The tables on the pricing page carry the current detail.
