Landline Phone Number Australia

The published products here are inbound 1300, 1800 and Phoneword numbers, not geographic landline services — but they can answer on your existing landline.

The honest scope

If you are after a geographic landline number — a number tied to a specific Australian area or exchange — that service is not among the published products on this site. What 1300 Easy Dial offers are inbound business numbers: 1300 numbers, 1800 numbers and Phonewords. This page will not dress that up as a landline product.

There is, however, a practical overlap worth knowing: an inbound number can answer on the landline you already have.

How an inbound number works with a landline

An inbound number is not attached to a phone line at all. During sign-up, the flow asks for the number the service will connect to — if that is your existing landline, calls to your published business number ring on it. The difference from a landline number is on the caller's side: the published number is a 1300 or 1800 number, not an area-code number.

  • 1300: shared cost — the caller pays a local call rate, the business pays the per-minute remainder. Plans start at $10 per month.
  • 1800: free for customers to call in the stated Australian 1800-number context; the business pays call charges.
  • Phoneword: a word on the keypad on a 13, 1300 or 1800 base, priced from $40 per month.

When this arrangement suits a business

For a business with a fixed office and a landline that is actually answered, an inbound number adds a public, portable contact point on top of it: the number can later be re-pointed to a mobile or another office without reprinting anything, because it was never tied to the line. For a business without a landline at all, the same number answers on a mobile instead — the connection number is your choice either way.

Check the plan tables on the pricing page, search availability with Find a Number, and read the terms and conditions before purchasing. If you specifically need an area-code number, that is a question for a landline provider — not something the published pages here establish.

Landline number questions

Can I get a landline number with an area code here?

No. The published products are inbound 1300, 1800 and Phoneword numbers, which are not assigned to a geographic area.

Can the business number ring my existing landline?

Yes — nominate the landline as the number the service connects to during sign-up.

Can it ring a mobile instead?

Yes, the same way — the connection number is whatever phone you nominate at sign-up.

Does an inbound number replace my landline service?

No. Your landline service stays as it is; the inbound number is a separate product that delivers calls to it.

What does it cost?

Published 1300 and 1800 plans start at $10 per month; Phonewords start from $40 per month. Call rates depend on the plan — see the pricing page.
