Purchase a Phone Number

Purchase a 1300 number, 1800 number or Phoneword for your business. See what a completed purchase confirms — number, plan, answering point and terms.

Person comparing information on a smartphone

To purchase a phone number for an Australian business, pick the category that suits — a 1300 number, an 1800 number or a Phoneword — then complete four confirmations: the exact number, the published plan it sits on, the answering point calls will connect to, and agreement to the terms. This page sets out what each confirmation involves, so the purchase you complete is the purchase you checked.

What you can purchase

1300 Easy Dial offers three categories of business number:

  • 1300 number: a shared-cost business number. Public plans start at $10 per month.
  • 1800 number: free for customers to call in the stated Australian 1800-number context, while the business pays the call charges. Public plans also start at $10 per month.
  • Phoneword: a 13, 1300 or 1800 number that spells a word on the telephone keypad. Published Phoneword pricing starts from $40 per month, with availability and desirability affecting the price.

The published plan prices

The published 1300 and 1800 plans are $10, $15, $39, $79 and $99 per month, and every standard plan is month-to-month with no lock-in. Call rates and included minutes differ between plans, so the pricing page — not a summary on this page — is the reference to check before paying. All pricing is ex GST.

What a completed purchase confirms

A number purchase is complete when four things are confirmed. Check each one before you pay.

  • The number, confirmed. The exact digits — or the word spelling them — confirmed against the live listing at sign-up. If it is a word, read it back through the keypad: the mapping should reproduce the tail exactly. Availability checked before sign-up is browsing; the sign-up confirmation is the one that counts.
  • The plan, named. The published plan the number sits on, including its monthly fee and inclusions. The published plan table is the reference every plan description should match.
  • The answering point, nominated. The signup flow asks for the number the service will connect to — where calls land. Have it ready before you start. This page does not establish routing, device or coverage behaviour beyond what the signup flow asks for.
  • The terms, agreed. The terms and conditions govern licence, billing and cancellation — the obligations that survive the purchase. This page does not paraphrase them; no summary should substitute for them.

Purchasing a premium number

A Phoneword is the premium path. Published pricing starts from $40 per month, with a $50 setup subject to number selection and availability, and the licence runs on a 12-month rolling contract. The exact number and price are confirmed with you before anything is connected — the search shows what is available, and the confirmation fixes the figure.

You can search available 1300/1800 Phonewords on Find a Number. The search does not promise that a particular word will be available, or available at a particular price, until it has been confirmed.

Before you pay

  • Compare the plan tables on the pricing page, including call rates and included minutes.
  • If you want a word, search available Phonewords and expect the exact number and price to be confirmed before connection.
  • Read the terms and conditions for the licence, billing and cancellation obligations that apply after purchase.
  • If the categories themselves are the open question, the buy a phone number overview compares them in more depth.

Purchase questions

How much does it cost to purchase a phone number?

Published 1300 and 1800 plans are $10, $15, $39, $79 and $99 per month, all ex GST. Phonewords start from $40 per month plus a $50 setup, subject to number selection and availability. Call rates and inclusions for each plan are listed on the pricing page.

Am I locked into a contract?

Standard 1300 and 1800 plans are month-to-month with no lock-in. Premium numbers — Phonewords, from $40 per month — run on a 12-month rolling contract.

Can I purchase a number that spells my business name?

Yes — that is a Phoneword. Search available 1300/1800 Phonewords on Find a Number, and the exact number and price are confirmed before you connect. Availability and desirability affect the price, so the search alone promises neither a particular word nor a particular figure.

What does the purchase need to connect the number?

The signup flow asks for the number the service will connect to — the answering point where calls land. Have that number ready so the purchase is complete in one pass.

Do the prices include GST?

No — all published pricing is ex GST.
