Australian Telephone Number
What counts as an Australian telephone number for a business here — the inbound 1300, 1800 and Phoneword products, how callers use them, and what is excluded.
An Australian telephone number, in the sense published on this site, is an inbound business number in the 1300, 1800 or 13 ranges — optionally a Phoneword that spells a word. Those are the number types 1300 Easy Dial sells and connects. The page below sets out what each is, how callers use them, and — just as usefully — what is not part of the range.
The inbound types, briefly
- 1300: the shared-cost business number. Callers pay a local call cost; the business pays the remainder. Published plans start at $10 per month.
- 1800: the toll-free arrangement. Callers pay nothing in the stated Australian 1800-number context, and the business pays call charges. Same plan price points.
- 13: the short six-digit format with four usable letter positions. Pricing is not published in the site's plan tables — confirm with the team.
- Phoneword: any of the above carrying a word — up to six letters on 1300 or 1800, four on 13 — from $40 per month with availability and desirability affecting the word.
How callers use them
A customer dials the published number; the call arrives at the answer point the business recorded at signup — that is the question the signup flow asks. The number does not attach to a particular premises or device in any published way, which is why one number can serve as the single contact point across signs, ads and the website. Search Find a Number to see which word numbers are currently listed as available.
What is not in the range
Stated plainly: geographic area-code landlines, mobile numbers, personal or residential lines and international numbers are not published products on this site. An Australian business can absolutely run its contact point on the inbound types above, but this page does not claim those other formats. Service terms are governed by the terms and conditions, and the pricing page holds the current plan tables.

The numbers are one published contact point dialled the same way from wherever callers are; this page makes no further coverage claims about call origins or devices.
How much does one cost?
1300 and 1800 plans start at $10 per month; Phoneword words start from $40 per month with availability and desirability affecting the specific word. 13 pricing is not published in the plan tables.
